Bordo Solves Downlight Installation Difficulties
Bordo, Australia’s premier supplier of precision industrial cutting tools and power tool accessories, has recently added carbide grit downlight hole saws and dustbowl to its extensive range of hole cutting products.
The continuous-grit hole saws are available to suit the five major downlight sizes; 72, 75, 89, 92 and 95mm and are used in conjunction with a specially designed mandrel (arbor) to fit in most cordless drill chucks.
“With the incredible popularity of downlights seen today, our customers were telling us they wanted a simple, long-lasting, hole saw to suit this specialist application,” said Bordo’s Marketing Director Cameron Brown. “The tungsten carbide grit means that downlights can be installed with ease in anything from plasterboard and fibreboard to cement sheeting.”
To coincide with the release of the downlight cutters, Bordo has also added “The Dustbowl” to its range. The Dustbowl is a flexible polymer cap that fits between the drill chuck and the downlight hole saw and catches all the dust and debris associated with the cutting of the hole. The dust can then be easily disposed of with no danger to the user’s health.
“We believe this is a unique product that solves the health and safety problems associated with downlight installation, and indeed other drilling applications,” said Mr Brown. “The Dustbowl flexes as the installer drills upwards, and is made from see-through plastic so cutting accuracy is maintained.”
