- To ensure easy and precise use the Machine Nut Tap Taper lead has a unique, very long entering chamfer.
- This makes aligning the cutting end with the work piece simple.
- Ideal for tapping nuts, small quantities made from tough steel such as stainless steel as well as mild steels, or for rethreading rusty or worn threads.
- Alternatively, the Intermediate and Bottoming leads are ideally suited to long reach threading applications where the thread needing to be tapped or cleaned is beyond the reach of a standard tap.
- We recommend the Intermediate lead Machine Nut Tap for long reach through-hole applications and the Bottoming lead for long reach blind hole applications.
- British Standard Whitworth angle of thread is 55 degrees as opposed to 60 degrees in Metric and Unified threads.
